Description

The only thing better than owning an FJ is...having two? This kit was designed for FJ devotees and has already been installed in hundreds (if not thousands?) across the country. Built around one of our most popular off-road radios, the President Bill II AM/FM, you’ll also receive the FJ Bandi mount, which attaches to the rear hinge of the FJ, your choice of a Firestik FS or Wilson Flex antenna, external speaker, and SWR meter. Additionally, the FJ kit includes an illustrated step-by-step guide which is practically dummy-proof when it’s time to install this package on your rig.

Radio:	This kit is built around the President Bill II AM/FM CB radio, an ideal unit for off-road vehicle owners who need an ultra compact CB. Antenna attachment, power wiring and external speaker hookup all run through a small mounting box that can be tucked away for a clean installation. The radio includes NOAA weather, channel scanning, 6-pin mic, and "U" mounting bracket.
Antenna:	The kit provides two antenna options: Firestik FS: The Firestik FS series is the most popular fiberglass CB antenna on the market today. It doesn't offer the flexibility of the Wilson Flex, but it does provide significantly better transmit and receive performance. Also, you can add a CB spring to the antenna and mount to provide limited flexibility if desired. If optimal range is most important, the Firestik FS antenna is a better choice than the Wilson Flex. Wilson Flex: On the trail, it's convenient to have an antenna that can survive getting snagged, bent, bowed and abused. Subsequently, we picked an antenna that can bend 180 degrees without breaking: the Wilson Flex. These 4' antennas provide superior protection against snapping and hold up well to the rigors of off-road use. While flexible, they don't offer the same level of transmit and receive performance that a traditional fiberglass antenna like the Firestik FS does. If flexibility is most important -- and long-range communication isn't crucial -- the Flex is a good choice.
Mounting Hardware:	Included in the kit is the FJ Cruiser Bandi mount. This mount attaches to the rear hinge on the FJ and includes all necessary mounting hardware. Please see the link below for more mounting details. FJ Cruiser Bandi Mount
Additional Information:	This kit also includes an SWR meter and External Speaker. External Speaker: The Cobra's small speaker can occasionally be difficult to hear, especially over the roar of a revving FJ Cruiser. That's why we include a compact external speaker to ensure clear communication in noisy environments. The speaker comes with a mounting bracket for easy installation anywhere in the vehicle cab. Note: Speaker may differ slightly from picture. SWR Meter & Jumper: Every kit includes an SWR meter and coax jumper to tune your antenna for optimal performance. Picking Your Antenna

Firestik FS: Unless you need a super flexible antenna, we'd recommend choosing the Firestik FS. It's our best selling antenna, provides top-notch performance and can still achieve some flexibility with a spring. For length, we recommend the 4' over the 3' if at all possible as it will give you an additional 1-2 miles range.

Wilson FLEX: If you know you'll constantly be slamming your antenna into overhanging brush, your garage door or anything else we recommend the Wilson FLEX. It is amazingly flexible and forgiving, but you do give up some performance. You'll likely only be able to talk 1/2 the distance as compared to the Firestik FS.
