Philippi Cluverii Introductio in ommem Geographiam veterem... Johan Bunonis.

(Early Modern, Portrait, Cluverius, Globe).

Issued 1694, Wolfenbuttel Germany. Engraved by Herman Mosting, Lunenburg.

Unique and interesting late 17th century engraved frontis print. Allegorical figures on either side of the seated scholar who sits before a table globe.

Great visual manner of depiction, utterly unlike anything produced today, displaying an almost folk-art engraving technique.

Clean, well-preserved, fresh-looking example.

Sheet measures c. 6 1/4" x 8 1/4".

Printed area measures c. 6" x 7 1/2".
