Smart RGB + White LEDs! This 12-LED RGBW NeoPixel Ring (Warm White) adds a dedicated white LED to every pixel, giving you richer colours, cleaner whites, and far more flexible lighting effects — all arranged neatly in a circle.

The ring measures 1.45″ (37 mm) in outer diameter and features 12 ultra-bright, individually addressable NeoPixels. Each LED contains its own driver chip, so every pixel can be controlled independently using just one microcontroller pin. The rings are fully chainable, letting you connect multiple rings together by linking the data output of one to the input of the next.

Each NeoPixel includes constant-current drive (~18 mA per channel), ensuring consistent colour even if the supply voltage varies. No external resistors are needed — simply power the ring from 5 V DC, and you’re good to go.

Each pixel is “split” internally: one half provides the familiar RGB, while the other is a warm white LED with yellow phosphor. Unlit, the white element looks a bit like an egg yolk, but once powered it’s extremely bright. Brightness and colour are controlled using 8-bit PWM per channel, giving 32-bit colour control per pixel. This makes the ring ideal for smooth colour blends, warm white illumination, or combining both in a single animation.

NeoPixels use an 800 kHz single-wire protocol, which requires accurate timing. The PWM refresh rate is around 400 Hz, which works well in most cases but can be noticeable if the LEDs are moving. For higher-speed visual applications, DotStars offer a 20 kHz PWM rate, though NeoPixels remain a great choice for most projects.

Because the PWM engine runs inside each LED, once you send the colour data, the ring continues driving the LEDs on its own — no constant updates required. Control data is passed along the ring using an internal shift-register design, allowing an effectively unlimited number of chained pixels.

Extensive documentation is available, including wiring guides, power calculations, and example code. This tiny 5050 (5mm x 5mm) RGB LED is fairly easy to solder and is the most compact way possible to integrate multiple bright LEDs to a design. The driver chip is inside the LED and has ~18mA constant current drive so the color will be very consistent even if the voltage varies, and no external choke resistors are required making your design minimal. Power the whole thing with 5VDC and you're ready to rock.

This is the 4 pin LED chip version, not 6. It is code compatible and the same over-all shape and functionality but not the same pinout so you cannot use these to replace an 'S chip. If you are designing a new PCB we suggest going with the B, since it has built in polarity protection. Other than that, B and S are the same brightness, and use the exact same code interface.

The LEDs are 'chainable' by connecting the output of one chip into the input of another - see the datasheet for diagrams and pinouts. To allow the entire chip to be integrated into a 6-pin package, there is a single data line with a very timing-specific protocol. Since the protocol is very sensitive to timing, it requires a real-time microconroller such as an AVR, Arduino, PIC, mbed, etc. It cannot be used with a Linux-based microcomputer or interpreted microcontroller such as the netduino or Basic Stamp. The LEDs basically have a WS2811 inside, but fixed at the 800KHz 'high speed' setting. Our wonderfully-written Neopixel library for Arduino supports these pixels! As it requires hand-tuned assembly it is only for AVR cores but others may have ported this chip driver code so please google around. An 8MHz or faster processor is required.

These raw LEDs are cut from a reel and/or might be loose. They may not suitable for pick & place + reflow. The other end is sealed. The wires are even nicely color-coded: black for ground, green for signal, red for 3-5VDC power. We use SK6812 LEDs on these strips so you don't need an inline resistor and they work down to 3V logic+power.

NeoPixels are addressable LEDs. That means, there are 60 RGB LEDs per meter and the strip is half a meter long so you get 30 individually-controlled RGB LEDs! You can set the color of each LED's red, green and blue component with 8-bit PWM precision (so 24-bit color per pixel). The LEDs are controlled by shift-registers that are chained up down the strip so you can shorten the strip if you like by cutting it. Only 1 digital output pin are required to send data down. The PWM is built into each LED-chip so once you set the color you can stop talking to the strip, and it will continue to PWM all the LEDs for you

The strip is made of flexible PCB material, and comes in a weatherproof sheathing. You can cut this stuff pretty easily with wire cutters. Of course, you can also connect strips together to make them longer, just watch how much current you need! Chances are you will power these short strips direct from your microcontroller board. You must use a 3-5V DC power supply to power these strips, do not use higher than 6V or you can destroy the entire strip– yikes!

These LEDs use about 4.8 Watts max (~1 Amps @ 5V) per meter. It's a NeoPixel Triple-Ring Board with Thru-Hole LEDs.

This board is dotted with 44 adorable bubble-shaped lightly-diffused 5mm NeoPixel LEDs. Use just like any NeoPixel ring or strip, power with 5V and send it WS2812/NeoPixel signals. The signal pads on the bottom are labeled DI for data input, and DO for data output (to other rings).

The diffused LEDs have an interesting look compared to our other flat rings, and we like the multi-ring effect.

Technical Details

Diameter: 66mm

Overall Height: 9mm

Product Weight: 18.4g / 0.6oz

Datasheet

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0946/9486/7220/files/neopixel-triple-ring-board-with-44-thru-hole-leds-66mm-diameter-discontinued_1.jpg?v=1787258077
